H. Jon Runstad
Co-founder, Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer
Jon Runstad co-founded Wright Runstad & Company in 1972. Currently,
he is responsible for the direction and general management of the
company and actively involved in major aspects of each project in
development and major management issues for existing properties.
Jon's career in real estate development spans over 40 years. Before
founding Wright Runstad & Company, he was a building economist with
the Ministry of Public Building Works in London and a project manager
developing properties with Cabot, Cabot & Forbes in Boston.
Jon is a member of several organizations, including the Real Estate
Roundtable and the Urban Land Institute. He serves as a director
of the Institute for Systems Biology and the Seattle Symphony, as
well as trustee for the Downtown Seattle Association. He served as a
member and president of the Board Regents of the University of Washington
and remains involved in many ways, including as a director of the
University of Washington Foundation and a member of the Board of
Rowing Stewards. The Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies in the College of Built Environments
is named in honor of Jon and his wife Judy, a prominent land use attorney.
Jon earned a BA in Economics and a BS in Building Construction
at the University of Washington. He also earned an MBA from Harvard
Graduate School of Business Administration.
