Edna Lucille Goodrich Building, four stories and 210,759 square
feet, is located in Tumwater, Washington, just miles from the state
capital. The building brings 1,060 employees to the community and
will play an important role in the development of Tumwater.
Edna Lucille Goodrich Building was developed for the State of Washington,
and is the first building to meet the state's high performance energy
standards. The Class A building was awarded a Gold LEED
rating by the U.S. Green Building Council.
The building has nearly 2,400 square feet of retail space on the
first floor, a 4,000 square foot shared auditorium/conference space,
and a 3,500 square foot data center. Classic materials such as brick,
metal and stone were utilized and interpreted in a modern way to
create a timeless building. Exterior glazing allows natural light
to flow through the structure.
The main floor lobby connects two exterior plazas. The southwest
plaza is the main entry and welcomes visitors and employees with
a large landscaped space and a split-face limestone "feature
wall." The northeast plaza is a primary design feature creating
an urban space for people to enjoy and will complement Tumwater's
future Town Center. A surface lot adjoining the building provides
770 parking spaces.
