The Galland and Seneca Buildings, recipients of the 1986
AIA Merit Award, are located on the west side of Second
Avenue between Seneca and University Streets. These six-
and two-story buildings were constructed at the turn of
the century. In 1985, they were completely restored to
meet current seismic codes. Prominent building features
include red-brick facades, skylights, tall windows, high
ceilings, and street-level shops and services.
